For 25 years, The Adelaide Network (TAN) has been more than just a networking group. It has been a space where professional women connect, collaborate, and cultivate lifelong friendships. The group was founded in 2000 by Tania Pradun to provide professional women in Adelaide with a vehicle for meeting regularly to make useful contacts, share knowledge, and exchange information and points of view.
As TAN marks its 25th year, the essence of its success is clear: the power of relationships, shared experiences, and a willingness to evolve.
Over the decades, TAN has facilitated business partnerships, professional growth, and deep personal connections among women from across the business, government, education and not-for-profit sectors. Each gathering is a unique opportunity to learn something new, showcase a business, introduce a passion project, or support a community initiative.
The group is still going strong. However, because not all members work full time these days – or, for that matter, work for money – TAN has evolved into what members describe as “a friendship group with business overtones”.

GreyMatter.Studio attend TAN: An Evening of Creativity
At a recent TAN meeting, creativity took center stage with GreyMatter.Studio’s inaugural studio session.
Charlie Robinson, founder of GreyMatter.Studio and a self-described “boomerang member” of TAN, led a recent meeting to introduce this thought-provoking concept to members.
The session encouraged attendees to engage in creative thinking and explore new perspectives, especially within the over-50 space, all while creating art pieces to their ability.
The evenings collaboration between TAN and the GreyMatter.Studio is a testament to demonstrating that creativity, curiosity, and connection remain at the heart of TAN’s community.

“As TAN continues to be a space where business and friendship intersect, where ideas take flight, new collaborations emerge, and the journey of professional and personal growth never truly ends, the GreyMatter.Studio congratulate and say, Here’s to the next 25 years of TAN: fostering friendships, championing women, and embracing the creative possibilities that come with every stage of life.” -Charlie

The GreyMatter.Studio concept was launched on the International Day of Older Persons (1 October 2024) with an Instagram campaign Bridging the Years. Its ongoing mission is to empower individuals to embrace their evolving identities and challenge societal narratives around ageing.
“We can’t do it alone,” the campaign emphasised, highlighting the importance of intergenerational connection, not just with younger people but also with one’s younger self, the child within.
