From our delightful Storytellers Committee Chair, Olga, who reflected on March’s Harmony Week theme adaptation, “The Wise Ones” and, playfully, its opposite:
“This morning, a school-teacher was arrested at JFK International Airport, attempting to board a flight while in possession of a ruler, a protractor, a compass, an ancient wooden instrument he called a slide-rule, and a coding device he called an abacus, and claimed was a calculator.
The Attorney-General said the man was known to be a member of the notorious Al’Gebra movement.
The man was charged by the FBI for carrying weapons of math instruction.
The Attorney General said: “Al’Gebra has caused us many problems in America. They particularly terrorise young people. Their members call each other by secret code names like “x” and “y”, and use a strange set of symbols to communicate, which even the CIA and FBI haven’t been able to decipher. But we’ve determined they are part of the axis of medieval, with a denominator in nearly every country”.
When President Trump was asked to comment on the arrest, he said: ” Well, I think if God had wanted us to have better weapons of math instruction, he would have given us more fingers and toes”.
